Hot-selling books for the autumn market

By Sharon Fussell, July 31, 2014

I do hope you are enjoying a lovely summer and it’s not too hot for you.

Although summer is not passed yet, in the book-selling world, you need to be looking for hot-selling products to meet demand for the autumn season.Hot-selling books for the autumn market

Autumn is the time of year when you need to be looking to list books that will be required for colleges, schools and universities.

It’s not just young kids going back to school in early September: older children and adult students will require products for college and university.

Hot topics include:

  • Sheet music for instruments
  • Instruction books for piano grades, guitar grades, trumpet grades violin grades
  • Song sheets in general are always popular.
  • GCSE revision books (re-sits too)
  • A level revision (re-sits too)

The Study Handbook is always popular at this time of year: if you have any waiting to be listed, get them the system ASAP.

Of course, it’s not just schoolchildren that require books for new classes: many adult buyers are looking for books that will assist with hobbies when they sign up for evening classes in local colleges.

These include:

  • Cookery
  • Flower arrangement
  • Pottery
  • Languages
  • Woodwork

More hot topics to find this month…

Princess Diana books are still very popular around the anniversary of her death, which is at the end of august.

Elvis Presley’s anniversary of his death is also in August.

This year it is the 100-year anniversary for the start of the Great War (1914–1918), so any material you have will likely be popular, be they books, DVDs, videos (specialist VHS still sell well), and audio books.

Books I sell frequently around early autumn (prior to 11 September) include any that relate to the Twin Towers terrorist attack in New York. After 11 September, books on this subject don’t tend to sell at all.

Of course, it’s not just knowing what books sell at certain times of year: it’s getting hold of the most popular titles in the quantity required to supply the market and make a few bob.

If you find it challenging to find hot topics to re-sell, my new programme Copy Paste Profit (CPP) will guide you to the best way to find low-cost, hot-selling topics which you can profit from again and again, over and over, to meet demand.

When the demand for a certain product ends, just move on to other hot-selling topics.

The best thing about using the CPP method is you can target hot subjects, adapting your stock to suit market conditions, without even owning or handling ANY stock at all.

No searching charity shops or car boots, and no storing stock or taking orders to the Post Office.

It’s easy to start and there are no up-front costs to find. You can begin immediately: no previous experience is needed. What’s more, CPP is operated 100% online, so there’s no need to leave your home or your sofa!
