The nights are drawing in and Christmas is getting closer…
It is so important to get ready for the coming spending frenzy because this time of year offers you some great opportunities to make money.
Many of my emails have covered Christmas related topics because with a bit of planning this really is a goldmine. I bought many items earlier in the year and specifically held them back from listing online until a few weeks ago.
Book sales always go through the roof at this time of year so it is always worth looking out for good quality books that could be suitable to give as gifts.
4 great subject areas are:
Cookery books
Craft /Hobbies
Biographies
Children’s Classics
I am always on the look out for niche titles in all subjects, but craft titles can be great little money spinners.
It’s always best to ensure that books are in the best condition possible and watch out for the following defects:
– Gift inscriptions from the pervious owner.
– No Missing CD or DVD – if it states there should be one enclosed in the book make sure it is there.
– Damaged Covers-ensure covers are not badly damaged/creased
– Strong odours
– Page tanning
You might not think that buyers would purchase used books for gifts, but they do, especially FBA items as they can get them gift wrapped, leave a gift message and get them sent direct to family and friends.
That aside, both FBA and merchant sellers should find, good quality, niche items sell well so try and get on the band wagon and make some money during this very lucrative time of year.
